During the show “Russia. Kremlin. Putin” aired on Rossiya-1 TV, President of Russia Vladimir Putin said he doesn’t rule out running in the next presidential elections in case the relevant amendment to the Constitution is accepted, reports TASS.

“I personally haven’t made a decision, but I don’t rule it out. We’ll see,” he said.

The head of state also called on all officials to do their job, not look for heirs to replace him.

“I’ll be honest and say that the relevant amendments aren’t made to the Constitution, in one or two years, many people will start trying to find potential heirs to replace the authorities. I’m fully certain that the government did the right thing by introducing amendments to the Constitution,” the President said, adding that the events that took place in recent months served as evidence of the fact that it was right to introduce the amendments.
