The discussions with our colleagues of the Bright Armenia faction are normal discussions and are in progress, and that’s all I can say for now. This is what deputy of the Prosperous Armenia faction of the National Assembly Naira Zohrabyan told reporters in parliament today.

Prosperous Armenia Party has announced its intention to apply to the Constitutional Court with regard to the constitutional amendments, but Bright Armenia Party had declared that the Constitution doesn’t provide deputies of the National Assembly with the opportunity to apply to the Constitutional Court with that issue. Nevertheless, the two parties are considering a way they can counter the constitutional amendments.

In his turn, head of the Bright Armenia faction Edmon Marukyan said the following: “We’re holding discussions. The public will be provided with sufficient information when the discussions are over. I have nothing else to say for now. If I share my observations now, it will turn out that the discussions have to be open.”

Touching upon the constitutional amendments, Marukyan emphasized the fact that the authorities amended the Constitution in a matter of hours, in violation of all types of internationally accepted criteria and the Armenian Constitution. He added that there will obviously be a response to all this.
