YEREVAN. – According to our petition to the Constitutional Court [(CC)], the Constitutional Court can completely reverse all this. Edmon Marukyan, leader of the opposition Bright Armenia Party (BAP) and head of its parliamentary faction, stated this in a conversation with journalists Wednesday, referring to the remark that before they petition to the Constitutional Court, the powers of some judges of the Constitutional Court will be terminated.

Asked whether they believe that the ratio of the makeup of the Constitutional Court will change in favor of the authorities in a very short time and their petition to the Constitutional Court will be premature—and their petition may not even be accepted, Marukyan answered: "You will see that our petition will be accepted. Second, remember that it was said that 7 out of 9 members of the Constitutional Court should leave because they are former, and so on. Now, if we subtract two of those 7, or even if we subtract three, the balance doesn't change."

Marukyan added that no one had assured him that their petition would be processed. "But the draft made sloppily, and as a result of sloppiness, their goal—dismissing the three judges—will not be fulfilled because it will not apply to the third judge."

And as for the judges of the Constitutional Court, the leader of the BAP said. "All judges who will be dismissed will be reinstated through legal proceedings because what happened occurred in clear violation of the Constitution."
