The Bright Armenia faction of the National Assembly clearly emphasized when it will apply to the Constitutional Court and with what particular issue and stated that the faction views the solution to the issue related to the constitutional amendments in the legal field. This is what head of the My Step faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Lilit Makunts told reporters today, touching upon the fact that Bright Armenia Party decided to wait until the Constitutional Court renders a decision on the case of second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and then apply to the Court instead of joining Prosperous Armenia Party.
“The My Step faction also sees the solution to all issues in the legal field. I would recommend holding all political discussions in the legal field and leave it up to lawyers to clarify. I will only touch upon one observation of the Bright Armenia faction according to which the My Step faction has stripped the President of Armenia of his powers. We can’t talk about stripping or not stripping of powers when it is recorded that, in reality, according to lawyers’ interpretations, the President of Armenia doesn’t have the particular power. If there is no power, there can be no discussion on stripping the President of that power,” Makunts said.
