Deputy Head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Police of Armenia Edgar Janoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the Police have instituted, under the elements of Article 144 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (gathering, disseminating information deemed to be personal or family secret of a person without the consent of the person), a criminal case based on the report on dissemination of materials regarding the case of rape related to Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan.

Janoyan also informed that the criminal case has been forwarded to the Investigative Committee.

Presses have released articles regarding the gang rape that Gagik Tsarukyan participated in years ago.
