Speaker of the National Assembly of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Artur Tovmasyan today visited 96-year-old veteran of the Great Patriotic War Armik Babayan, who lives in Stepanakert.

On Victory Day in 1945, Armik Babayan participated in the solemn parade at Red Square in Moscow on the occasion of the Victory that the USSR scored over Germany in the Great Patriotic War.

On the occasion of Victory Day, the head of parliament congratulated the war veteran and expressed gratitude for the great endeavor of the victors who ensured freedom and peace for the generation of the time.

Armik Babayan is originally from the Msnma village of Artsakh’s Martuni region. He has been awarded orders “For the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War”, “For the liberation of Warsaw”, “For the seizure of Berlin”, “For combat service” and the Order of the Red Cross.

The parliamentary speaker asked the war veteran about his social conditions and assured that the government will be maximally attentive towards war veterans’ needs.
