US Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden will accept his nomination at a congress in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, scheduled for August, NBC News reported.

Meanwhile, the congress will take place mainly online, and its delegates are asked to stay at home amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"After consulting with public health officials about the COVID-19 pandemic, convention organizers are announcing today that they have determined state delegations should not plan to travel to Milwaukee and should plan to conduct their official convention business remotely," the Democratic National Committee said in a statement.

According to NBC, "Wisconsin is a key battleground state for the Democrats to win in November."
