President of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Arayik Haroutyunyan today received head of the administration of Martakert region Hayk Bakhshiyan and discussed the current issues in the region and the paths to solve them, as reported the press service of the President of Artsakh.

Bakhshiyan provided information about the course of implementation of state programs under implementation in the region and particularly touched upon the scarcity of drinking and irrigation water in certain villages of the region caused by the drought, construction of homes and reconstruction of inter-village roads.

The President stated that the government will allocate AMD 100,000,000 from the state budget for acquisition of construction materials. Touching upon the problems with agriculture in the region, Haroutyunyan stated that the government will support farmers who suffered damages due to low harvest this year and will provide them with barley seeds. Haroutyunyan added that the problem with irrigation in the fields of Martakert region will also be solved soon since the waters of Sarsang dam will soon be moved to the right bank of Tartar River.
