Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan today signed a decision on setting up a task force and approving the composition of that task force in order to ensure effectiveness of the irrigation system; to explore the circumstances behind the recorded discrepancies with water users, including exploitation of small hydro power plants, the generation of electricity and delivery of electricity to the Electric Networks of Armenia by those hydro power plants in-depth and extensively; to detect potential violations and take, in that regard, necessary and relevant measures prescribed by law (to solve the issues related to water intake); to present a timetable and roadmap for future actions, as well as to use the water released from Lake Sevan more efficiently and to improve future works.

Prime Minister Pashinyan also decided to repeal the previous government decision on setting up a task force and approving the composition of that task force.
