YEREVAN. - Microsoft Innovation Center officially opened in Armenian capital.

Armenian ministers of Economy and of Science and Education, as well as U.S. Ambassador to Armenia and Microsoft and Dell representatives participated at the event.

The center aims to stimulate innovation in Armenia, discover new ideas and include them in country’s economy.

Microsoft local office manager Grigor Barseghyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am-Innovation they would integrate both foreign and local companies in center’s works.

“Our main goal is to support local companies in making their own products and reduce importing outsourcer products,” said Barseghyan.

Company Incubator fund created the center with support of Armenia’s government, USAID, Microsoft and Armenia State Polytechnic University. 

Microsoft Innovation Center costs  $2.5 million.
