Armenian diplomats need to show the whole world what kind of provocations totalitarian Azerbaijan is carrying out. This is what leader of Bright Armenia Party and head of the homonymous parliamentary faction Edmon Marukyan said during a special session of the National Assembly today, adding that all responses need to be unequivocal and particularly addressed to the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan.
Based on the data provided by the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, on Sunday, July 12, at around 12:30 pm local time, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces attempted to violate Armenia's state border, in the direction of Tavush Province, and with an UAZ-model vehicle. In the evening, the Azerbaijani side resumed shootings with a mortar of 82 mm caliber and a tank.
On Monday morning, spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia Shushan Stepanyan reported that the enemy continued to shell Armenian positions after a two-three-hour silence, to which the Armed Forces of Armenia gave an adequate response. According to the press release of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, two Armenian police officers received slight injuries as a result of the shelling. In his turn, Governor of Tavush Province Hayk Chobanyan reported that three servicemen had been wounded, but their lives were not at risk.
