The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan has issued the following statement:
“Kazakhstan is deeply concerned about the armed incident that took place on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border and led to human casualties.
We call on the Republic of Azerbaijan, which is our friend, and the Republic of Armenia to show restraint and refuse to resolve disputed issues through the use of force.
Further escalation of confrontation during worsening of the COVID-19 pandemic and the global socio-economic situation may lead to unpredictable and negative consequences.
We express hope for peace and agreement are reached quickly, and first and foremost, in the bilateral format. We are ready to do everything possible to search for peaceful ways to settle the conflict within the scope of international organizations, including the UN, the OSCE and the CIS.”
