Armenian defense ministry spokesperson Shushan Stepanyan took to her Facebook early on Friday to share an update from the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.

According to her, the situation on the contact line last night was relatively calm and the opponent used only automatic weapons of various calibers.

In the meantime, the Investigative Committee of Armenia launched more than 30 criminal cases amid the aggravation of the situation at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, including on the fact of violation of the ceasefire by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, a gross violation of international humanitarian law, and the requirements of the Geneva Convention.

According to preliminary data, as a result of attacks on Armenian strongholds, 36 servicemen were injured, 4 were killed, 4 cars were damaged.

Armenian human rights defender Arman Tatoyan posted a video on his Facebook on the consequences of shelling by the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan in Aygepar, Chinari, Nerkin Karmiraghbyur, Norashen and the cities of Berd in Armenia's Tavush province.

The office of the human rights defender of Armenia has already sent two interim reports in English on the Azerbaijani shelling in the Tavush province to the UN Human Rights Council on July 12 and 14. The report also presents data that the Azerbaijani armed forces installed artillery batteries in their own settlements, making the population a target of the Armenian side.

Celebrities have taken to their social media to reflect on the current situation at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.

Beauty mogul Kim Kardashian tweeted: "I stand with my fellow Armenians and pray for those that are involved in recent tensions on the border of the country. I urge for a peaceful resolution for these unprovoked attacks during this already very difficult pandemic."

In turn, an American businessman of Armenian origin Alexis Ohanian took to his Instagram stories to share an Armenian National Committee of America's photo that reads: 'Azerbaijan is starting a regional war amid a global pandemic.'

Armenian football star Henrikh Mkhitaryan also expressed his support to Armenian brave soldiers on his Facebook. "I stand with you," he added.

Emmy-nominated film producer Eric Esrailian took to his Twitter to note that "Armenia wants peace & the Armenian people of Artsakh want the basic human right to self-determination."

"The international community should be outraged," Esrailian said.
