During his remarks, the PM noted that the Eurasian Economic Union PMs' next meeting will be hosted by Yerevan in October. "So I am waiting for all of you in Yerevan in October," he noted.

The PM also touched upon the latest developments and tensions at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.

According to him, "the is no forceful solution to the conflict, and there is no alternative to peace talks, which meets the interests of all the peoples of our region."

"We are very concerned by the loss of life that the violation of the cease-fire between Armenia and Azerbaijan has caused," they said adding: "We therefore urge them to show the restraint needed on the ground to de-escalate the situation and to refrain from inflammatory rhetoric."

A total of 10,692 patients are currently being treated and 22,492 people have recovered (561 in the last day). The death toll has reached 620 (13 in the last day).

A total of 133 people have already recovered: 30 citizens are receiving treatment, and 50 citizens are isolated. According to the Artsakh health ministry, two COVID-19 patients are in critical condition.

  • The American dollar’s (USD) exchange rate against the Armenian dram (AMD) comprised AMD 482.62/$1 in Armenia on Friday; this is down by AMD 1.02 from Thursday, according to the official website of the Central Bank of Armenia.

In the meantime, the euro is rising. The exchange rate for one euro was AMD 550.77 (up by AMD 0.44), while that of one UK pound totaled AMD 605.35 (down by AMD 0.31), and the rate of one Russian ruble made up AMD 6.72 (down by AMD 0.07) in the country.
