The adversary becomes active and then calms down, and this is acceptable for the Azerbaijanis. This is what deputy chief of Vazgen Sargsyan Military University, military expert and ex-spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia Artsrun Hovhannisyan told reporters today, in response to a question about the adversary’s stopping tactic.

“From the military perspective, this is highly acceptable, especially in the case of the Azerbaijanis. They can create an impression that there is ceasefire, but prepare for other operations during that period and, why not, even make us less alert and take action with another scenario. There is nothing new,” Hovhannisyan said.

Hovhannisyan also touched upon the current operative situation on the border. “The situation on the border was relatively calm, there were few gunshots, and they were mainly fired from rifles. Today I visited a military unit where the combat spirit of the soldiers and commanders was at a high level, and they are in full control of the situation. We see when the adversary wants to make attacks, and if the adversary makes any provocation, it will receive the counterattack it deserves," he said.
