Judge Anna Matevosyan of the Yerevan court of general jurisdiction today denied the motion of the National Security Service to select arrest as a pre-trial measure against Judge Ara Kubanyan of the Bankruptcy Court.

This morning, Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan upheld the motion of the National Security Service and applied a two-month arrest against Gevorg Narinyan, another judge of the Bankruptcy Court. The charge brought against the judges remains confidential.

As reported earlier, Prosecutor General of Armenia Artur Davtyan had applied to the Supreme Judicial Council to receive consent to institute criminal prosecution against Judges Gevorg Narinyan and Ara Kubanyan and deprive them of their liberty, and the Supreme Judicial Council had given its consent.
