In case of aggression against Armenia, Moscow will fulfill its obligations as a CSTO member state, Russian first deputy chairman of the committee of the State Duma for the CIS Konstantin Zatulin told KP.
When asked whether Russia will use the CSTO tools if the escalation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border continues, he noted that Moscow "is simply obliged to fulfill its obligations under the treaty in the event of a military attack against Armenia."
"We would really not want Baku or Yerevan to use aggravation for their internal political reasons to strengthen their positions."
"But the question of whether Russia will or will not fulfill its obligations is a subject of speculation both in Azerbaijan and in Armenia. Of course, in case of aggression against Armenia, Moscow will fulfill its obligations as a CSTO member," he added.
