Spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia Shushan Stepanyan today told Armenpress that one of the servicemen wounded as a result of Azerbaijan’s military operations on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border is still in extremely critical condition, the others are getting better, and four servicemen already feel fine.

During all the operations, a total of 36 people were wounded. “Twenty of them received medical assistance, the other sixteen immediately returned to service since they weren’t in bad condition and had only received injuries that were similar to scratches. Out of the 20 servicemen, 10 are undergoing treatment,” Stepanyan said.

On July 12 at around 12:30 p.m. servicemen of the Armed Forces of Azerbajian made an attempt to trespass the state border of Armenia in the direction of Tavush Province in a UAZ car. After the Armenian side’s warning, the Azerbaijani servicemen left the UAZ car and returned to their positions. At 1:45 p.m. the servicemen of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces made another attempt to seize the Armenian Armed Forces’ border position through the use of artillery fire, but were repressed by the Armenian side and were thwarted, suffering casualties. Later, the Azerbaijani side resumed shelling, targeting civilian infrastructures. On the night of July 19, and on the night of July 20, relative calm was maintained on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
