Spokesperson of the Defense Army of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Senor Hasratyan has touched upon President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev’s statements with the following post on his Facebook page:
“Yesterday the monarch of the neighboring country made another pompous statement in which he particularly used the following words: “…When we dealt a devastating blow to Armenia, they immediately ran to ask the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) for protection…” In closing, he also boasted and said the following: “…Fight with us face-to-face, and we’ll see who wins…”
Well, perhaps it is appropriate to refresh the memory of the monarch of the neighboring country. I would particularly like to tell him that there has already been an occasion for the Armenians to fight against the Azerbaijanis face-to-face on the battlefield. I am referring to the first Artsakh war, the war during which the Azerbaijani side benefited from the services provided by Turkish, Chechnya, Afghan and Ukrainian hirelings, but, as he would say, was thwarted after receiving a crushing blow.
Of course, the monarch Ilham can’t remember this, and the reason why is because when the ‘almighty’ army of Azerbaijan and the foreign hirelings supporting the latter were receiving crushing blows by the Armenian Army facing them in different sectors of the border, the deserter son of father Aliyev was spending his ‘golden youth’ in casinos in Istanbul…He only returned to the homeland when his father asked Moscow to stop the Armenians’ victory campaign…
This is the most vivid example of asking for protection, something the monarch did in April 2016…As far as Ilham Aliyev boasting about the Armenians ‘asking the CSTO for protection’, he should know better than us that there was no need and there can’t be a need for that because we Armenians prefer to fight against each other face-to-face.”
