Armenia will expand economic opportunities during the COVID-19 pandemic, PM Nikol Pashinyan said at the Armenian government during a meeting with the republic's businessmen.

PM noted with regret that the rates of economic growth in 2019 and the beginning of 2020 have been lost and that it is already necessary to discuss how to get out of the crisis that has arisen.

According to him, from the first days of infection, Armenia, like many other countries, faced a difficult choice. Health priorities were on one side of the balance, and economics on the other. 

In April, about 70 thousand jobs were closed in the country. In May, restrictions on the activities of enterprises wer gradually lifted to balance the solution of issues on the safety of citizens and their employment, the PM noted adding that most of the jobs have already been restored.
