Turkologist Ruben Melkonyan posted the following on his Facebook page:

“After the recent tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, my younger colleagues and I paid attention to the fact that Turkey’s response was somewhat unprecedentedly active and aggressive, to a certain extent.

The response became more and more aggressive in the days that followed. In his speech yesterday, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan presented the issues of Syria, Iraq, Libya and now Armenia at the same level. Let us note that Turkey is carrying out military operations in the three aforementioned countries…Classifying Armenia among those countries was a clear message with a military subtext which also, in essence, was unprecedented, at least in the past years (not counting the early 1990s).

Today, after the session of the Security Council of Turkey which ended a short while ago, the official statement reads as follows: “The Turkish people will defend any decision that the fraternal Azerbaijan takes within the scope of its just cause…” Perhaps it won’t be needless to add to all this the new version of the famous slogan of Turkey (“one nation, two states”), and that new version is “one nation, one army”.

In conclusion, female and male representatives of the authorities,

take off the rose colored glasses!

stop kidding yourselves and stop boasting excessively!

renounce the inappropriate and nonsensical peace-loving!

stop weakening the mechanisms and the federal and friendly relations ensuring Armenia’s security!”
