The Azerbaijani myth their army can defeat the Armenian army, and therefore Armenia and Karabakh must make concessions, has been debunked, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during the government's meeting.

He recalled that on July 12 Azerbaijan attacked the positions of the Armenian Armed Forces in the Tavush province, as a result of which the Armenian forces not only repulsed the attacks but also inflicted significant damage on the enemy. 

“The Azerbaijani side suffered serious losses, including weapons, military equipment, including modern equipment, which is an obvious victory for the Armenian military, intelligence, and military-industrial complex. The Armenian side has further strengthened its positions on the border. The moral and psychological blow to the opponent was much stronger, and as a result of incidents on the border in Azerbaijan, internal political instability arose, which forced the leadership of this country to resort to new provocations in order to channel the energy of internal discontent towards Armenia and Karabakh,” the head of government added.

Pashinyan noted that Azerbaijan launched the attack when Armenia was involved in the settlement of the Karabakh conflict, and when Azerbaijan refused to negotiate with the main party to the conflict - Karabakh.
