In an interview with Armenian News-NEWS.am, Communications Director of the Armenian National Committee of America Elizabeth Chouldjian said the ANCA is working hard to delete the statement “situation of internally displaced persons in Azerbaijan” from the Resolution of the US House Committee on the Judiciary.
According to Chouldjian, the ANCA will work with Congressmen in all stages, starting from discussions with the House Committees and ending with possible introduction of the Resolution in the Senate or even its adoption.
“The Resolution doesn’t contain elements of sanctions against Armenia or Nagorno-Karabakh and won’t even directly lead to political consequences, but in any case, its adoption is inacceptable. What is also inacceptable is the fact that the US Congress still hasn’t touched upon Azerbaijan’s atrocities against the Armenians in Sumgait and Baku,” Chouldjian added.
