The European Court of Human Rights satisfied the appeal of human rights defenders Artak Zeynalyan and Arayik Ghazaryan with a request to take urgent measures on the issue of Narek Sardaryan, a resident of the village of Nerkin Khndzoresk, Syunik province of Armenia, Artak Zeynalyan wrote on his Facebook.

On July 22, 2020, the European Court satisfied the appeal of an urgent measure in the case of Narek Sardaryan, a citizen of the Republic of Armenia who has been captured in the Republic of Azerbaijan. 

The European Court of Human Rights demands to take all measures to ensure Narek Sardaryan's physical and psychological immunity, to report on Narek Sardaryan whereabouts and health state, in case a criminal case has been initiated, send the materials of the criminal case to the applicants, to arrange Narek Sardaryan's return to Armenia;

Azerbaijani media has earlier reported on the detention of Armenian citizen Narek Sardaryan.

Sardaryan got lost and went to the territory of Nakhichevan, where he was captured.

He is described as a patriot, calm and hardworking person, who has never had problems with either law enforcement agencies or local authorities. N. Sardaryan has a family and minor children.
