For about five months, Armenia has been fighting the worldwide spread of the new coronavirus infection. During this time, it became known that individual benefactors made money transfers not only to the state account opened for the fight against coronavirus, but also sent money to individual medical institutions to reward doctors.
In response to a written request of Armenian News - NEWS.am, the Ministry of Health informed that within four months (from March 1 to June 11), the awards for middle and junior medical personnel of medical centers redesigned as a result of coronavirus in Armenia (their number is about 2,041) are valued at AMD 687 million 518, that is, a health worker received on average about AMD 84,000 a month, after withholding taxes - about AMD 63,000.
It should be noted that the Yerevan City Hall, in turn, in the second quarter of 2020 transferred AMD 100 million from the bonus fund to employees of medical institutions of municipal subordination, including the ambulance staff of Yerevan.
As the mayor spokesperson Hakob Karapetyan told Armenian News - NEWS.am, the number of awarded employees is about 2,000 people, that is, an employee of a medical institution subordinated to the community, on average, received about AMD 17,000 from the municipality of Yerevan per month, and after withholding taxes - about AMD 12,500.
However, the second quarter of 2020, AMD 47 million were allocated for bonuses to 122 employees of the mayor's office, that is, an employee of the mayor's office of Yerevan received an average of AMD 128,000 per month, which is about 7.5 times higher than the average monthly bonus for medical personnel of medical institutions subordinated to the mayor's office.
