YEREVAN. – The government has nominated the candidate for judge of the Constitutional Court (CC), Vahram Avetisyan, and the National Assembly (NA)—including the My Step faction—has enough time so we can ask all the questions that concern us to the candidate—both in the NA Sessions’ Hall and by organizing a separate meeting, which we are going to do. Lilit Makunts, the leader of the majority My Step faction of the NA of Armenia, mentioned this Monday during a meeting with journalists.

According to her, after that meeting—which will take place this week, after receiving the answers to their questions of concern, after finding out all the circumstances, the MPs, of course, will form their position.

And asked whether Vahram Avetisyan's candidacy was a surprise because completely different names were circulating as candidate for judge of the Constitutional Court, Makunts responded: "The government is free to submit any candidate, and the NA will form an opinion and present it."
