STEPANAKERT. – Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) President Arayik Haroutyunyan on Monday convened a consultation dedicated to the change of the Artsakh emergency situation commandant and the tightening of measures aimed at preventing the further spread of COVID-19 in Artsakh, the President's Office reported.
By a decree signed by the Artsakh President, Minister of State Grigori Martirosyan’s tenure as commandant of the current emergency situation in Artsakh has been terminated, and Minister of Territorial Administration and Development Zhirayr Mirzoyan has been appointed the new commandant.
According to President Haroutyunyan, the decision to change the commandant is conditioned especially by the fact that in the near future, the majority coalition faction of the National Assembly of Artsakh will nominate Martirosyan for the post of Chairman of the Artsakh Audit Chamber.
After hearing the respective reports by the heads of the relevant bodies, the President instructed to tighten the current rules for the fight against the coronavirus in Artsakh.
On the instruction of the President, the medical institutions of Artsakh will now return to their normal working regime, the planned treatments will be resumed, and in that context, the departure of the Artsakh citizens going to Armenia for treatment will be limited.
