The petition of the Prosecutor General's Office for self-recusal submitted to Judge Serzh Avetisyan was rejected, Advisor to the Prosecutor General Gor Abrahamyan wrote on his Facebook.

The Armenian Prosecutor General's Office submitted a petition for self-recusal to Judge Serzh Avetisyan -  rapporteur on the cassation appeal submitted by the Prosecutor General’s Office over the decision of the Court of Appeal to change the preventive measure against Armenia ex-president Robert Kocharyan.

The reason for the petition for self-recusal was the fact that a part of the amount of the bail for Kocharyan, according to him, was paid by businessman Samvel Karapetyan, and the fact that he also made a large financial donation for Avetisyan.
