On the evening of July 15, Anna Hakobyan, the wife of Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, had a telephone conversation with George Baghumyan—a friend of the My Step Foundation, an American-Armenian businessman, founder of the PMA Venture Capital Group, and a philanthropist; Hakobyan informed about this on her Facebook page.

"And how great my surprise was when I heard the following text on the other side of the phone: ‘Anna, I have to transfer to you a quarter of a million dollars for our soldiers, our defenders.’

It was July 15; that is, the period of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border tension.

I suggested that we think of various programs, present [them] to him, and he would choose exactly how to get that money to our defenders.

Mr. Baghumyan's response was so binding. He said that there was no need to present anything to him, he trusts me and will soon transfer the $250,000 to the foundation to address the defenders of the homeland.
