YEREVAN. – As of yesterday, we have 201 new confirmed cases from 1,710 tests conducted, which is in line with the same trend we have been talking about in the last few weeks. Health minister Arsen Torosyan said this at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, and regarding the COVID-19 situation in Armenia.

"That is, the number of cases recorded daily each following week is approximately 50 to 100 lower than the cases recorded that day last week. The logic that we mention: we have a real opportunity to reduce these numbers, remains valid. As a result, we also have a fairly mild condition in the hospital system dealing with coronavirus disease. We have lower numbers in patients in severe and critical condition, which fluctuates within 300; this downward trend is also maintained," the minister added.

According to Torosyan, the stage of overcoming COVID-19 continues in Armenia, as the respective rules and efforts are paying off. "Of course, I do not think we should set a goal before us to approach zero [cases]. Keeping in the 50-100 range should also be acceptable for us, as it will be very difficult to reach zero by just keeping the rules," the minister said.
