It’s impossible for Armenia to ensure further development of the military-industrial complex by trying to create new arms on the basis of already existing troops. This is what Head of Instigate Vahagn Poghosyan said during a discussion devoted to military production today.
According to him, the main hindrance to the development of military production in Armenia is the wrong approach. “Armenia is trying to produce new types of arms on the basis of the already age-old mindset. New arms and new troops need to be established at the same time,” he stated.
Poghosyan also noted the need for the formation of experimental military units with nearly 3,000 citizens from the active reserve of the Armed Forces, adding that those citizens’ main task will be to test the innovative technologies of the companies of the military-industrial complex and that only in this case will it be possible to talk about progress in the military production sector.
