Josep Borrell, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, expressed support for the Belarusians who took part in Sunday’s protest against the reelection of Aleksandr Lukashenko as President.
“Hundreds of thousands of Belarusians were out today demonstrating peacefully, demanding release of political prisoners, prosecution of those responsible for police brutality, and real elections.
The EU stands by the Belarusian people,” Borrell wrote on Twitter.
