Through complex operational intelligence measures, the relevant unit of the National Security Service of Armenia has obtained sufficient factual data according to which officials of the “National Institute of Metrology” CJSC, bestowed with organizational-managerial and administrative-economic powers, using their official position, in the period between 2010 and 2018, acting intentionally and in conspiracy with a group of persons, with mercenary motives, issued orders to hire 27 citizens in different positions. Knowing that the citizens have failed to show up to work fulfill their duties, they drew up and validated an official document reserving a right and other false documents serving as a ground to not pay the citizens their salaries. Later, placing the documents into circulation, they presented them for payment, as a result of which particularly large amounts (AMD 59,062,904) were embezzled for mercenary motives in the name of the employees, as reported the news service of the National Security Service.
The Investigation Department of the National Security Service has instituted a criminal case, and necessary investigative and other procedural actions are being taken to establish all the circumstances behind the case, the scope of persons having committed the criminal offense and to recover the damage caused to the state.
