The residents of Geghamasar town of Armenia’s Gegharkunik Province have closed off the Vardenis-Karvachar interstate road since early Tuesday morning.
They complain that a cloud of chemical-rich dust forms following the explosions at the Sotk gold mine, and this cloud reaches nearby settlements and also pollutes drinking and irrigation water.
