YEREVAN. – The court hearing on the criminal case of Nazik Amiryan, the wife of retired General Manvel Grigoryan—an ex-MP and former chairman of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union of Armenia—was rescheduled Tuesday.

Amiryan was not present at today’s court session.

Defense attorney Levon Baghdasaryan motioned the court to push back the court session until the end of the current state of emergency in the country—and due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The court granted the motion and scheduled the next court hearing for September 22.

Manvel Grigoryan is charged with illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, misappropriation of property, tax evasion, waste of state funds, and organizing the stealing of property through extortion.

Nazik Amiryan is accused of illegally storing ammunition and explosives in their three houses—and with prior consent with her husband, son Arman Grigoryan, and some other persons not identified by the investigation—as well as committing theft.
