In all times, at least until April 2018, the Armenian army has been one of the most reputable institutions in Armenia. This is what third President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan said during a press conference today.
“I’m stating the results of sociological surveys requested by people representing various political forces, and nobody can deny the results. There are some institutions that particularly deal with discrediting the army, but that’s a different story. I reiterate the fact that no institution can function perfectly in any country,” the ex-President said, adding that it’s a shame to discredit the Armenian army and any army, for that matter.
“It’s a shame to discredit the officers and soldiers who are defending our homeland day and night. The former authorities would always interact with officers and soldiers of the army,” Sargsyan noted.
Sargsyan also asked if anyone can bring an example of a member of the Republican Party of Armenia who has talked about the Armenian Armed Forces over the past two years and answered that nobody can bring an example since no member has ever talked about the Armed Forces.
