YEREVAN. – The Corruption Prevention Commission of Armenia has not yet completed its study into the incident related to Hayk Sargsyan, a member of the majority My Step faction of the National Assembly. The chairperson of the commission, Haykuhi Harutyunyan, said this in a conversation with Armenian News-NEWS.am, adding that there was respective information to be obtained, and that is why Sargsyan was called to the commission Wednesday to present clarifications.

We tried to get a comment from the MP, too, but we could not get in touch with him.

According to the information and video posted on Hraparak website on July 26, Hayk Sargsyan had organized a party at White Shorzha Beach on the shoes of Lake Sevan—and despite the coronavirus-related restrictions in Armenia. According to the website, this beach is either linked to Sargsyan or belongs to him.

Earlier, in a conversation with Armenian News-NEWS.am, Haykuhi Harutyunyan had said that the Corruption Prevention Commission shall study whether the materials published in the press meet—in terms of their quality—the legal requirement in order for them to immediately launch proceedings.
