President of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Arayik Haroutyunyan today received Chair of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security of the National Assembly of Armenia Andranik Kocharyan.
Haroutyunyan stated that, based on the principles of a unified security system, it is very important for the two Armenian republics to lead a harmonious and mutually agreed policy. He added that the implementation of ongoing reforms within the power structures is a vital requirement and that, in this sense, the active cooperation of the legislatures of both countries plays a major role.
Kocharyan expressed gratitude to the President for the cordial reception and emphasized that there is the necessary will and willingness to solve the earmarked problems properly.
During the meeting, the interlocutors also exchanged views on developments in the region in the military-political context and the challenges and future actions deriving from those developments.
