Armenia’s President Armen Sarkissian had a telephone conversation with President Halimah Yacob of Singapore.
The two presidents exchanged information on the coronavirus situation in their countries and the efforts being made to overcome it.
The Singaporean president thanked President Sarkissian for Armenia’s ratification of the free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Singapore. In his turn, the President of Armenia noted that this agreement will create great opportunities for the development of trade and economic relations.
During the telephone conversation, Sarkissian presented to Yacob the Armenian presidential ATOM (Advance TOMorrow) initiative, the main goal of which is to make Armenia a regional platform in high technology and artificial intelligence.
Touching upon his initiative to create a club of small and successful countries, President Sarkissian noted that this plan of his was discussed with the leaders of a number of countries and was approved. According to him, within this framework of cooperation and dialogue, small countries will be able to exchange experiences and ideas, develop a vision for the future, and help each other. The President of Singapore showed great interest in the idea of creating this club.
Also, President Halimah Yacob invited the President of Armenia to Singapore.
