According to AntiFake.am, Lydian Armenia and the Armenian authorities have launched shady negotiations over the exploitation of the Amulsar gold mine, and the negotiations are mediated, not direct.

“In particular, the government’s representative is Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan, and Lydian Armenia’s interests are represented by the company’s PR Officer Anna Saghabalyan’s husband, Vahan Hovhannisyan. In the photo are Simonyan and Hovhannisyan, who meet on a regular basis, and their meetings “coincide” with the passions flaring due to exploiation of the mine. According to the source, currently, Simonyan and Hovhannisyan have reached an agreement according to which police won’t obstruct the activities of Lydian Armenia’s guards, but the authorities and particularly Nikol Pashinyan won’t make public announcements in support of exploitation of the mine so that environmental activists won’t bicker at each other,” as reported on the website.

According to the website, the decision to exploit the mine at any price has already been made.

Representatives of the Armenian Environmental Front declare that the situation near Amulsar gold mine is very tense (the guards want to enter the territory with machinery, but environmentalists and the citizens of Jermuk aren’t letting them).
