Speaker of the National Assembly of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Artur Tovmasyan has conveyed a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of Armenia. The message reads as follows:

“Dear compatriots,

I congratulate all us Armenians on the day of adoption of the Declaration of Independence of Armenia.

On August 23, 1990, during its first session, the Supreme Council of Armenia adopted the Declaration on Independence of Armenia and heralded the launch of the process of declaring independence.

Exactly 30 years after that historic day, it is our duty to worthily serve those who implemented the major legal document that laid the foundation for the path to independence and that serves as the best guarantee of the unified and collective will of the Armenian people.

As a nation, we have proved the fact that the adoption of the Declaration of Independence can’t be objected, resisting external and internal challenges with unity and collective force and with the responsibility to be aware of the fact that we can resist the challenges facing the nation with unity and collective force.

Glory to the independence of the Republic of Armenia! Glory to the spirit of unity the Armenian people!”
