Leader of Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik Tsarukyan has congratulated Armenians on the 30th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of Armenia.
Tsarukyan took to his Facebook to post the following:
“Dear compatriots, dear sisters and brothers of the Diaspora and Artsakh,
I cordially congratulate you on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence of Armenia. On August 23, 1990, in difficult geopolitical conditions, during its first session, the Supreme Council of the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic adopted the Declaration of Independence, which heralded the new and incessant process in the history of the Armenian people that would lead to the declaration of independence.
It was the adoption of this Declaration of Independence that became the first step for turning the dream of the Armenian people of having independent statehood and an independent country into a reality.
On September 21, 1991, all Armenians said YES during the independence referendum, and we have had the joy of having a free and independent state for exactly three decades.
Independence is the pillar of our state that has no alternative, and each of us must consider it his or her duty to protect and maintain that pillar. Each of us has to help shape a more developed, sustainable and prosperous Armenia through daily efforts.
May God protect us all!”
