STEPANAKERT. – Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) President Arayik Haroutyunyan on Monday paid tribute to the memory of Hero of Artsakh Ashot Ghulyan (a.k.a. Bekor), and laid flowers to the pedestal of the monument perpetuating his memory at the same-name park of capital city Stepanakert, according to the President’s website.

The first military unit led by Ghulyan had participated in numerous military actions and as a result, dozens of Armenian settlements occupied by the adversary had been liberated.

Ashot Ghulyan died on August 24, 1992 during the liberation of Drmbon village of Martakert Region.
