Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that the visit of IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi to Tehran has nothing to do with the snapback mechanism that the US is trying to use to renew sanctions against Iran, Tasnim reported.
The FM also noted Iran's transparent cooperation with the IAEA, reiterating that Tehran will never seek nuclear weapons and believes that nuclear weapons are damaging to the country.
Zarif said that Iran will not allow parties that disagree with the IAEA and threaten world security with their nuclear weapons, namely the US and Israel, to ridicule the IAEA's goals.
During his discussions in Tehran, Grossi will touch upon the issues of Iran's cooperation with the IAEA and, in particular, the issue of granting Iran access to the agency's inspectors to the requested facilities.
