YEREVAN. – The Prosecutor General's Office and the State Security Service of Azerbaijan have issued a joint statement stating that a criminal case has been initiated—under five different articles—against Armenian soldier Gurgen Alaverdyan who had gotten lost. Shushan Stepanyan, spokesperson for the Republic of Armenia Ministry of Defense, (RA MOD) wrote about this on her Facebook page.

"All the accusations made are nonsense, and the process being carried out—a low-quality traditional staging.

"The RA MOD is in constant contact with international organizations, and it continues to work intensively on the situation created," Stepanyan added.
