Yerevan Zoo and the Armenian branch of Germany’s Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

The document was signed by acting Director of Yerevan Zoo Vladimir Simonyan and Head of the Armenian branch of NABU Narek Grigoryan.

The Memorandum underlies the main directions through which the two organizations will expand the scope of their cooperation. The parties earmarked the implementation of joint eco-educational programs, vocational training course, as well as the implementation of programs for conservation of wild animals, particularly storks.

According to Simonyan, such partnerships will contribute to effective implementation of the main mission of Yerevan Zoo and the implementation of new and competitive environmental programs.

Grigoryan voiced hope that the scope of cooperation will be expanded ad several measures will be implemented and that the signing of the document will somewhat help overcome the hindrances to the normal development of wildlife.
