YEREVAN. – Past daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: As it is known, on behalf of the [opposition] One Armenia Party, party chairman Artur Ghazinyan had submitted a petition to the RA Prosecutor General and the RA Special Investigation Service [(SIS)] with a request to initiate a criminal case with the facts of for failing the fight against coronavirus, concealing and distorting information posing a risk to human life and health, as well as abusing official position.
The SIS and the prosecutor's office had rejected the initiation of a criminal case, but, according to our information, on August 31, Ghazinyan's lawsuit will be accepted for proceedings by the court of first instance. (…).
According to Past newspaper’s information, the main reason for the dispute in connection with Arsen Torosyan during the session of the commandant’s office was the submission of a crime report by the very Ghazinyan.
Realizing that the initiation of a criminal case by the court is inevitable due to the force of the facts contained in the report, [PM] Nikol Pashinyan made it clear to Torosyan that he would bear all the accountability, but the latter [Torosyan] noted that he was not going to become a scapegoat, as the decisions were not taken alone, about which there is relevant correspondence, including personal. Passions flared up, as they say, on this topic as well, about which information has already been circulated in the media.
