YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of Armenia writes: According to Zhoghovurd daily’s information, in recent days, the MPs (…) of the [majority] My Step faction of the NA [National Assembly] have had discussions and tried to find out when they can organize the election of three [new] members of the Constitutional Court in the parliament.

And, according to our information, the MPs have initially come to the conclusion that the election of the [new] judges of the Constitutional Court should be organized by a special session, and, accordingly, a preliminary decision has been made to organize the election on Friday, September 11.

It should be noted that the autumn session of the National Assembly will start already on September 14, and the ruling faction has come to the conclusion that it would be right to discuss the issue in a special mode, devoting a whole day to it, as there shall be three votes in one day. At the same time, before that, the ruling faction has yet to decide how they will ultimately vote for the candidates.

It should be reminded that the candidates for the Constitutional Court judge are Edgar Shatiryan, who has been nominated by the government, Yervand Khundkaryan—by the General Assembly of Judges, and Artur Vagharshyan, who is also the presidential candidate.
