YEREVAN. – At Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, the government approved the bill envisaging amendments to the law on social assistance to the border communities of Armenia.

The matter was presented by deputy minister of territorial administration and infrastructure Vache Terteryan, who noted that this draft offers compensation mechanisms for textbooks being provided to the schools in border settlements of Armenia. "The second block [of this draft] refers to compensation for property, including animals, destroyed by shelling. The third block refers to one-time monetary compensations for those who acquire first-, second- or third-degree disability—in the amount of 3 million drams, 2 million drams and 1 million drams, respectively. And compensation in the amount of 5 million drams is envisaged for the family members of the people who have fallen," Terteryan added.

And Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan added that, in fact, this draft law offers one-time financial assistance to the residents of Armenia’s border villages who have been affected by military actions or attacks.
