The Lebanese presidential administration will hold consultations with parliamentary blocs to determine a candidate for the post of the prime minister after the government resigned after the Beirut blast.

The president is required to nominate the candidate with the most support among the deputies.

Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri is so far the only serious name mentioned for this position. But earlier this week he said he would not become a candidate after several major parties said they did not support his return to the office of the head of the Cabinet, Reuters reported.
